Life at SLITHM

Joining the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management (SLITHM), Colombo was a turning point in my journey. It wasn’t just about learning hospitality—it was about experiencing it every single day.

At SLITHM, the environment was vibrant and full of energy. Surrounded by students from different parts of the country, I had the chance to build friendships, share ideas, and grow together. The lecturers were industry professionals who brought real-world knowledge into the classroom, making every lesson practical and inspiring.

The Housekeeping Certificate Course taught me the importance of detail, discipline, and creating comfort for guests. Meanwhile, the Food & Beverage Certificate Course opened my eyes to the art of service—how a simple gesture or smile can transform a guest’s experience.

Beyond academics, life at SLITHM was about teamwork, discipline, and passion. From practical training sessions to group activities, every moment prepared me for the challenges of the hospitality industry. It was a place where theory met practice, and where I learned not just skills, but values that continue to guide me today.

Looking back, SLITHM Colombo was more than an institute—it was a community that shaped my confidence, professionalism, and love for hospitality.
